Round 3: Bahrain

3:07 PM

Toyota-related comments for the Bahrain GP are late, but still--
-Another strong showing from Toyota. Still surprised, overwhelmed by what has been happening so far.
-I find my self more and more a fan of Jarno Trulli! I'm glad Toyota signed him, and as planet-f1.com pointed out, it would have been a lot different if Toyota did a Ralf-Ricardo pairing or Ralf-Olivier pairing.
-Ralf better catch up soon. Another missed double podium for Toyota... the podium 'openings' could close soon for the team once the other teams realize their full performance potentials, and Ralf might have missed a lot by then.
-It's always good to get the buzz and motivate people within the team, but it seems that some comments regarding the championship campaign have come out prematurely... at least for my liking.
-I'm hoping for improved or at least sustained competitiveness for Imola. There are new parts coming to the car - the second major overhaul for the TF105 - including new front and rear wings, side pods and diffuser.

Addendum:

For the second consecutive grand prix weekend I also followed on the happenings at IRL - where Toyota is sorely behind Honda...
-So, first, Toyota better shape up over there with their V8s. I'm not sure if it's also something to do with their partner teams' performances and competitiveness.
-For a while I thought Toyota would go on to win IRL's first ever road course, even with a 1-2, courtesy of Briscoe and Manning. But it wasn't meant to be, I guess.
-Briscoe was impressive but he clearly needs more experience there. Good to know that at least he's able to show flashes of brilliance, for now... He was actually beginning to embarrass himself in the oval courses.
-Still baffled by that Dixon guy. Champion in 2003 but struggling by a lot since then. What gives? And this man was thought to be jumping to F1?
